Today, I discovered my boyfriend's spider-infested shed where I refused to set foot, where he is constantly fixing the mower, bikes, or his car, is actually just a sound recording of power tools he plays so I won’t go down and disturb him. He has a TV, an Xbox, and a fridge in there. FML

Why does your boyfriend feel the need to lie to you about this? If he's spending endless hours hiding away doing a hobby, why would you have been okay enough with tinkering, repairs, etc. but not gaming? I get that not everyone likes video games, but functionally, if he's not engaging with you for hours at a time while doing either activity, what material difference would it make? Wouldn't it be better to be able to have open and fair conversations about the balance of solo vs. partner activities period and come to an actual agreement? If there's a problem with how much time he's spending on hobbies vs. relationship stuff, focus on it like that. If you'd just rather he be "acceptably productive" in his downtime, perhaps interrogate why you feel that way and whether it's truly necessarily to never just have "fun" time?

I would guess she's like my wife. To my wife, if someone isn't doing an activity that *she* considers "work" then they're free to be tasked with whatever bullshit she can think up. To be fair, she was brought up that way - I've seen her mother do it to people as well, and her grandmother. So yeah, if I want to sit here writing on FML, I need to have my work computer open and some complicated spreadsheet up, or it means I'm not busy enough in her eyes, and therefore must be tasked with chores. And I don't mean "chores I was supposed to be doing", I mean "made up stuff that nobody would have thought of otherwise". She's aware of this, and we have discussed it, but we still have regular discussions about "does this need to be done now because if it's not done now the house is going to collapse or something, or does it need to be done because you feel I'm not busy enough to suit you?"
